Digital Ephys Systems

Neural Recording System Ideal for Tetrode and Complex Signal Processing

Overview

Digital recording systems have made acquiring many channels (32 – 384) easy and cost-effective. TDT has the perfect interface for both Intan and Neuropixels recording headstages. Make the iCon + iD2 module the backbone of your ephys acquisition setup, or get the iCon + iD3 to study brain circuits with neuropixels. Both large data sets save to disk with access to real-time closed loop control and online spike sorting.

Digital Standards in a TDT Interface

TDT has two options for our iCon digital recording modules: the iD2 and the iD3. Each of these follows the exact manufacturer specifications from Intan and Neuropixels to ensure the signals are acquired from the digital chips perfectly.

The iD2 can acquire up to 256 channels from two ports and the iD3 can connect to any NP 1.0, NHP, or 2.0 probe. Connect the iD2 to our OD32, ZD digital ZIF-Clip headstages, or your own Intan headstage and collect EEGs, LFPs, MUAs, and single-units up to 25 kHz. Connect to our Neuropixels headstage to acquire everything from your NP probe.

Going Beyond Standard Digital Systems

The TDT Touch

TDT engineers took that standard digital protocols and extended them to work seamlessly with our real-time acquisition systems. Every data set is accessible in real-time for online processing (filtering, thresholding, RMS envelops, spike counting) and spike sorting, so you can close the loop on any protocols using our iD2 or iD3 systems.

Combine this with our ACO Digital Motorized Commutator for an impressive chronic recording setup.

Build Your Perfect Digital System

The iA16 and iA32 ephys amplifiers are just one piece of the perfect recording system. Our iCon platform lets users create customized systems to mix-and-match ephys, photometry, auditory, behavior, electrical stim, and more.

All the signals are synchronized and available together. TDT’s iCon is the only system that can do this.

Why TDT?

When you choose a TDT behavioral neuroscience recording system you choose legacy, innovation, and commitment. Every system is designed and assembled at our headquarters in Alachua, Florida by our long-time employees.
