MF2 Multi-Field Magnetic Speakers

High Performance Speakers for Auditory Neuroscience

TDT’s MF2 Multi-Field Magnetic Speakers are the current generation performance speakers for auditory and behavioral neuroscience.

The MF2 are available in mono or stereo pairs and offer high output power and fidelity over a wide frequency bandwidth. The 1 kHz to 80 kHz range makes the MF1 well-suited for ABRs, DPOAEs, tuning curve studies, ultrasonic vocalizations, noise exposure studies, fear conditioning and much more.

High Performance Speakers for Auditory Neuroscience

The MF2 is the perfect choice for most auditory neuroscience studies.

The speaker has a detachable faceplate and tubing tip that allow you to switch between open and closed-field operation.  The closed-field configuration incorporates an internal parabolic cone designed to maximize output and minimize distortion.

Multi-Purpose Positioning

Speakers feature rugged aluminum housing and a built-in, 8-32 threaded hole for use with standard laboratory mounting hardware. The mono speaker includes an aluminum stand and the stereo speaker set includes a variety of aluminum mount/base fittings for easier positioning.

Precise Auditory Stimulation

Perfect for ABRs and DPOAes

The MF2 was designed explicitly for our RZ6 ABR and DPOAE system.

Capture amazing auditory brainstem responses with a flat and low-distortion sound output that ensures your data is calibrated and correct.

The MF2 stereo speaker kit is the easiest way to set up your distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE) experiments.

The MF2 kit comes with a speaker stand and closed-field faceplates to connect tubing from the speakers to our DPM1 microphone.

MF2 for Behavioral Neuroscience

Ultrasonic animal calls, startle responses, tuning curves, auditory evoked responses and more!

Connect the MF2 to the TDT iCon and iQ Auditory Stimulation Module to make running any acoustic paradigm a breeze.

Your MF2 + iQ module can also be combined with electrophysiology or fiber photometry plus video to get a complete picture of neural activity and social behavior.
