PZ5 NeuroDigitizer Amplifier

The PZ5 NeuroDigitizer biological amplifier expands upon the capabilities of TDT’s previous amplifiers to deliver the best neurological signal capture available today. With this multi-modal neurodigitizer, researchers can now capture any biological potential and artifacts without signal clipping, while simultaneously recording from different subjects and input types. The PZ5 records across a broad signal range with no phase distortion.

Recent collaborations have led to non-ferrous headstage developments that now make it possible to record single unit electrophysiologys simultaneously during fMRI imaging. This cutting edge development makes PZ5 an ideal tool for correlating BOLD changes with underlying neural activity.

Streamline Data Collection

Achieve the synchronized capture of single unit (neuron) recordings, evoked potentials, EMG, EEG and analog signals with the use of a single amplifier. Recorded signals are amplified and digitized on the battery powered PZ5 and then transmitted to the RZ base station for further processing via an isolated, noiseless fiber optic connection. Researchers can monitor signal acquisition and make adjustments on the fly.

Versatile, Configurable Design

The PZ5 amplifier allows you to configure all aspects of your recording parameters, such as filter settings, sample rates, and input type. The isolated 16-channel banks are individually configurable with gain and sample rates optimized for intended neural input. The PZ5 is available in 32, 64, 96 or 128 channel models and supports sampling rates up to ~50 kHz.

Ephys + fMRI

Record single-unit electrophysiology simultaneously during fMRI imaging. Directly measure the correlation of individual neural activity with the hemodynamic response in the brains of awake, behaving subjects. Working closely with scientists in the field, TDT engineers helped enable this breakthrough by utilizing several unique features of the industry-leading PZ5 amplifier.
