iV2 and iV1 Video Capture Interfaces

TDT offers two options for integrated synchronized video capture: the iV2 and the iV1 video capture interfaces.

The iV2 includes real-time subject tracking capabilities for closed-loop experiments on up to two cameras. The iV1 offers a lower cost single camera solution without tracking for researchers who just want to record video alongside other data.

These iCon modules are easy additions to new or existing TDT systems that provide researchers the ability to record real-time behavior at a high frame rate (60 FPS+) and resolution. The iV2 and iV1 are the ideal camera solutions for any electrophysiology, fiber photometry, or behavioral setup.

For Research Involving

  • Chronic Sleep Recordings
  • Fiber Photometry
  • Freely-Behaving Subjects
  • Operant Conditions
  • Open Field Behavior
  • Radial Arm Maze Learning
  • Morris Water Maze (learning and fear conditioning)
  • Shuttle Box Trial for aversive stimulus
  • Condition Place Preference studies
  • Novel Object Recognition tests
  • And much more!

iV2 Video Capture Interface

The iV2 is a dual camera video interface. Each camera runs independently and generates its own .mp4 video file fully synchronized with other runtime data generated in TDT’s Synapse software. The iV2 includes real-time tracking capabilities for positional feedback and closed-loop experimentation. Its sophisticated hardware features are very simple to control, and adjust to fit your exact experimental setup.

This is the perfect camera solution for any researcher looking for:

  • Real-time closed-loop integration of video and behavior
  • Velocity-related and location-based experimentation
  • Customizable video region separation with automated time-stamped tracking
  • Automated behavior control triggered by subject positioning
  • Multi-subject tracking capabilities

The Camera

The iV2 runs specifically with the following camera package that is purchased in addition to the module:

  • Camera and Lens:  Basler a2A1920-160ucBAS color camera with 50mm lens (monochromatic option available). Cameras come with a customer 2-meter cable for connection to the iV2.

iV1 Video Capture Interface

The iV1 is a single camera offering that is perfect for researchers who have a single subject and want to record perfectly synchronized video alongside their data. The iV1 generates an .mp4 video file fully synchronized with other runtime data generated in TDT’s Synapse software. Get the perfect behavioral video capture every time – it couldn’t be any easier.

This is the perfect camera solution for any researcher looking for:

  • Precise video files for offline behavior scoring
  • High frame rate and high resolution video with no jitter, lag, or drift
  • Efficient video encoding for smaller saved files

The Camera

The iV1 runs specifically with the following camera package that is included with the module:

  • Basler dart color camera shipped with 6mm lens (additional 8 mm or 4.2 mm lens options available)
