TDT SYNAPSE SOFTWARE
Synapse auto-detects your TDT hardware and uses that information to streamline your experiment design. As you build your experiment, you won’t have to think about the particulars of your hardware setup. If your hardware changes, Synapse will recognize it and reconfigure on the fly!
Use the streamlined interface to adjust experiment-specific hardware choices, such as the number of recording channels, operational modes, and input sources. As you make selections, Synapse updates the designtime window with relevant choices to complete your configuration.
Gizmos are ready-made building blocks that can drop in a specific task or bundle a group of tasks together for a particular type of experiment. Choose one of the neural gizmos to add basic neurophysiology bundles; including Bayesian and K‐Means sorting algorithms, online tetrode feature space cluster-cutting, high-channel LFP, ECoG, and EEG recordings.
The Processing Tree illustrates the experiment components and data flow at a glance while built-in gizmos provide runtime controls for fine-tuning data collection. High channel count neurological data is filtered and sorted in real-time as spike counts are binned and offloaded to a networked computer using a UDP interface.
Stimulus gizmos use uniform parameter sets to configure stimulus parameters across your experiment. With gizmos like the Parameter Sequencer, you can develop complex stimuli and vary parameters in a systematic way. You choose what parameters to automate, store, or control at run time
Using the Synapse API, develop custom applications in MATLAB or Python to dynamically control timing, triggering, data storage, as well as visualize data at runtime.
