AC32 Tech Notes

Commutator does not charge properly

Product: AC32, AC64
Version: AC32 < 5000, AC64 < 3000
Date Added: 2013-04-16

Commutator charge life drops significantly, or device no longer charges.

Commutators and battery-powered amplifiers use the same 6V center pin negative charger. Affected commutators have a deeper power socket, which the normal charger won't reach; they use a charger with a modified extended barrel. Verify you are using the correct charger before contacting TDT for support.

Commutator motor fails on startup

Product: AC32
Version: < 2000
Date Added: 2006-09-11

Because the voltage supplied to the commutator motor was marginal for initial startup, some commutators could fail to move on startup.

The motor drive circuit has been redesigned to ensure ~4.0V supplied to motor. (ECN 6601)

If you experience this problem, contact TDT for an RMA to upgrade your current module.
