SykoFizX Tech Notes

'Action canceled' or 'The page cannot be displayed' errors displayed when opening a help file downloaded from TDT Website

TN0188

Product: BrainWare, SykoFizX
Version: Any Downloaded from Web
Date Added: 2005-06-22

Issue

Computers using Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 will place a block on compiled help files (*.chm) that are downloaded from the Internet. The block will interfere with the operation of the help file and an 'Action canceled' or 'The page cannot be displayed' error will be displayed in the topic pane. The problem is caused by security features introduced in the service packs designed to reduce vulnerabilities in HTML help.

Workaround

After downloading the document, open it from the location where it was saved, and a security warning will appear. In order to view the help documents properly, the check mark must be cleared from the 'Always ask before opening this file' check box. The files will then open properly from the PC. Alternatively, right-click on the file you want to open, click Properties, and then click Unblock.

Product: SykoFizX

Date Added: 2005-06-02

Issue

An "Index out of bounds." error message will be displayed when the setup is opened, if certain parameters are left blank or not set when each configuration wizard is saved.

Solution

SykoFizX has thorough error checking for all parameters saved in each wizard. Make sure that parameters that require values are not left blank.

Parameter tags no longer visible in Stimulus Generation Configuration window

TN0183

Product: SykoFizX
Version: All
Date Added: 2005-06-02

Issue

If an RCO file with parameter tags is loaded to the Stimulus Generation Configuration window and the tags originally appear but are no longer visible when the configuration window is reopened, the project is most likely corrupted.

Solution

The problem can usually be fixed by recreating the project from scratch. If the error persists, there may be a problem with the RCO file. Contact TDT for assistance.

Error Message: 'The requested output level of [x] dB SPL on the [XXX] transducer exceeds the maximum output level of [y] dB SPL at [z] Hz.'

TN0182

Product: SykoFizX
Version: All
Date Added: 2005-06-02

Issue

The error message, "The requested output level of [x] dB SPL on the [XXX] transducer exceeds the maximum output level of [y] dB SPL at [z] Hz.", is displayed if there is a problem with the calibration or if the maximum output of the transducer has been exceeded.

Solution

If [y] is a reasonable maximum dB output, you have exceeded the maximum output for your transducer. If [y] is an unreasonable value (such as -INF), there is a problem with the calibration. This most often occurs when values are not set for RCO parameter tags. A value can be assigned to a parameter tag in the stimulus scripts or if the tag is setup as an experimental value. However, if tags are not addressed in the project, then a value must be assigned directly in the Stimulus Generation Configuration Wizard.

Important

The values set for tags in the Stimulus Generation Configuration Wizard are not saved when saving the Design file, so they need to be entered each time.
