The ultimate in software for neurophysiology experiment design, data collection and project management.
TDT SYNAPSE SOFTWARE
Synapse auto-detects your TDT hardware and uses that information to streamline your experiment design. As you build your experiment, you won’t have to think about the particulars of your hardware setup. If your hardware changes, Synapse will recognize it and reconfigure on the fly!
Use the streamlined interface to adjust experiment-specific hardware choices, such as the number of recording channels, operational modes, and input sources. As you make selections, Synapse updates the designtime window with relevant choices to complete your configuration.
Gizmos are ready-made building blocks that can drop in a specific task or bundle a group of tasks together for a particular type of experiment. Choose one of the neural gizmos to add basic neurophysiology bundles; including Bayesian and K‐Means sorting algorithms, online tetrode feature space cluster-cutting, high-channel LFP, ECoG, and EEG recordings.
The Processing Tree illustrates the experiment components and data flow at a glance while built-in gizmos provide runtime controls for fine-tuning data collection. High channel count neurological data is filtered and sorted in real-time as spike counts are binned and offloaded to a networked computer using a UDP interface.
Stimulus gizmos use uniform parameter sets to configure stimulus parameters across your experiment. With gizmos like the Parameter Sequencer, you can develop complex stimuli and vary parameters in a systematic way. You choose what parameters to automate, store, or control at run time
Using the Synapse API, develop custom applications in MATLAB or Python to dynamically control timing, triggering, data storage, as well as visualize data at runtime.
Synapse gives your lab sophisticated automation & intelligent experiment design for precise and flexible control of TDT’s proven System 3 (S3) hardware.
FEATURING TDT GIZMOS
Intuitive and ready-made, Gizmos add discrete blocks of functionality and can be utilized in endless ways.
Allow TDT’s Synapse to streamline experiment design and data collection, freeing up more of your time for analyzing data and writing up results.
Imagine your lab working at peak efficiency to reach your full research potential.
Quickly and easily create experiments with Synapse software to utilize the full potential of TDT’s powerful S3 hardware.
A streamlined software interface automates DSP level programming to bring speed and ease to complex experiment design tasks. Synapse provides function specific Gizmos and experiment templates to automate all but the highest level design steps. Control your TDT hardware and software by accessing the most commonly modified configuration settings on simple tabs.
Synapse automatically detects your TDT hardware and tailors presented options to only those relevant to your configuration. If you have multiple rigs, move experiments seamlessly from workstation to workstation even if the underlying hardware varies.
TDT Synapse offers innovative project management and digital lab notebook tracking for your experiments. Persistence options let you control how runtime configuration settings carryover from user to user, subject to subject, or session to session. Changes to parameters and settings during each recording are documented automatically in Synapse’s comprehensive relational database.
You can even choose a previous set of changes as a launching point for your next session, effectively rewinding your experiment to an earlier state. Unsure why your experiment isn’t running as smoothly as it did last Tuesday? In Synapse, the answer is only a few clicks away.
Easily organize multiple experiments across numerous subjects and various lab members with the power of Synapse’s complete experiment management platform.
Synapse’s engineered integration with S3 hardware offers the fastest, most precisely timed operations ideal for closed loop and low latency experiments. With Synapse you can immediately access data for visualization while the data is being stored to disk and use runtime interfaces to change settings and visualize data as it’s acquired.
View and update experiment parameters in parallel with data storage via our time-tested TTank data server. Synapse not only ensures the integrity of the data you will collect, it also supports integration with existing OpenEx applications and custom development of applications written in MATLAB®, Python™, as well as any language that supports ActiveX.
The power and flexibility of TDT’s proven multi-DSP hardware platform is never more than a few clicks away.
