The RZ5D Processor combines the power of user programmable digital signal processing and an optimized communications interface with support for Z-Series amplifiers, headstage manifolds, and stimulators. The RZ5D standard configuration includes three DSPs, which can be used either to analyze and store acquired data or to generate stimuli. Fiber optic input and output ports ensure low noise, optical isolation, and flexible system configuration. This versatility makes the RZ5D a very cost effective solution for users who need a multichannel recording system, 16 to 32 channels, and/or a system for electrical stimulation. Used with a PZ4 digital headstage manifold or one of the PZ amplifiers, the system can provide excellent dynamic range for wide bandwidth multichannel acquisition in a compact package. Used with the IZ2 stimulator, the system becomes a programmable microstimulator with excellent dynamic range for wide bandwidth electrical stimulation, up to 128 channels PCM analog outputs support a wide variety of signal production tasks, including control of motors and monitoring analog signals during acquisition. The RZ5D is rack mountable in a standard 19" rack and is 3 U tall. Also available, the RZ5 configuration includes one or two DSPs and Medusa legacy fiber optic connections for use with the RA16PA Medusa preamplifiers and the MS16 Stimulus Isolator for stimulation. For systems with up to 256 recording channels, consider our RZ2 base station and PZ2 preamplifiers. |

RZ UDP Interface: The RZ Communications Interface is an optional interface for RZ processor devices that includes a UDP Ethernet connection and a serial port connection. The serial port can support baud rates up to 115200. The port is a standard 9-pin RS232 connection located on the back of the RZ and occupies one o the RZ's DSP expansion slots. The RS232 port can be directly connected to any device that communicates via serial port, such as head trackers, eye trackers, or a PC. The UDP interface is designed to transfer up to 200 data values at low rates to or from a PC. The PC may be directly connected through a dedicated Ethernet card located elsewhere on the user’s network, or even in a remote location connected via the internet. The RZ UDP interface is located on the back panel of the RZ processor and accepts a standard Ethernet cable. Part numbers: Technical specifications:
