Probe compatibility with the RA16CH headstage…
The RA16CH chronic headstage uses a low-profile female Omnetics connector with a channel arrangement that is directly compatible with TDT MW16 Microwire arrays, NeuroNexus 16-channel chronic probes and “Michigan” 16-channel chronic probes. By default, the RA16CH inputs are single ended with Ref and GND tied together. When used in this configuration, the headstage can be used with TDT microwire and NeuroNexus probes without modification. When using “Michigan” probes, if ground and reference lines are required, external connections have to be made.
When differential inputs are desired, cut the jumper on the headstage pictured below.
When using differential inputs, be aware of the reference and ground connections on the different probes available. TDT recommends using single-ended inputs whenever possible.
