Missing sort codes in OpenExplorer.

Note #: 0282

Product: OpenExplorer

Version: < 2.8

Date Added:  03/20/08

Issue:

OpenExplorer reads the sort codes from the first 1000 events to populate the event list. Sort codes that are generated for events after the first 1000 events are not detected by OpenExplorer and therefore not displayed.

Workaround:

To display a control for the missing sort codes and view the data associated with those sort codes:

1) First add a Sort Control to the OpenExplorer workspace. (If using sort codes generated in OpenSorter, see tech note # 0273)

2) Double-click the Sort Control.  This displays the Control Configuration dialog.

3) Clear the Synchronize with plots check box.

4) Click the Auto Fill Options button.

5) Select None from the Auto Fill Method area.

6) Click OK.

This will allow you to edit the Sort Code filters.

7) Enter in any missing sort codes manually. It is recommend that you generate a table in MSExcel® and then paste it into the control.

8) Click OK.

The missing sort codes will be added to the control and will correctly display events associated with them.

Solution:

If you are using OpenExplorer version 2.8 the Control configuration dialog has been redesigned. Download the OpenExplorer User's Guide and see Adding Sort Code Filters for more information on configuring sort code controls in OpenExplorer.
