Typical Virtual Acoustics Workstations

The RX6 Piranha Multifunction Processor is TDT's newest platform for 3D sound research. High performance DACs backed by exceptional processing power and fast data transfer rates allow you to explore 3-D sound with complex real-time audio presentation, multiple sound sources, HRTF filters, and many tap FIRs.

Our Real-time Processor Visual Design Studio (RPvds) uses special components for generating 3D spatialized sound using head-related transfer functions to make programming spatialization easy. These components allow automatic loading of an entire HRTF filter bank to memory. To generate a spatialized sound, simply specify the azimuth and elevation of the HRTF filter. The HRTF FIR filter supports interpolation to produce smooth sound movement. RPvds also includes delay components for creating echoes and reverberation functions.

Our new Head Tracker Interface makes it easier than ever to integrate the Polhemus FASTRAK® or Ascension Flock of Birds® motion tracker into your System 3 real-time virtual audio presentations.  

Auditory Display Workstation

The Auditory Display Workstation combines the RX6 Multifunction Processor and our Headtracker Interface to form a powerful 3-D platform for complex real-time audio presentation, HRTF filtering, multiple virtual sound and many tap FIRs. SykofizX software is included for comprehensive psychophysical testing.
